How Safe Is Your Drinking Water?

How pure is the water you drink? Does it get contaminated before it reaches your lips? Will boiling make your water safe? Or should you get a water-purifying system?
Before "clean" drinking water from a filtered source is consumed, it could become contaminated through contact with water pipes and other parts of the filtration and delivery system such as connectors, pumps and reservoirs. If you want to drink clean, germ-free water, you will need a system that does away with the pitfalls of recontamination.
Elken's Bio Pure Water Purification System is a six-stage drinking water purification system complete with a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane that has won the coveted NSF 58 Accreditation from the National Sanitation Foundation.
During RO, water molecules under powerful water pressure pass through a semi-permeable membrane that has extremely minute pores measuring only 0.0001 micron in diameter. Through these holes, the membrane filters contaminants such as solid particles, microorganisms like bacteria and viruses and soluble molecules of all sizes. The NSF 58-approved Bio Pure membrane removes all sorts of impurities and pollutants- big and small - present in running water, including arsenic, barium, chromium, cadmium, copper, sporangiocysts, fluorides, lead, radium, selenium, and total dissolved solids (TDS).
In addition, Bio Pure is equipped with an activated carbon cartridge, which is effective in removing contaminants that cause the unpleasant taste, foul smell and chalkiness of drinking water. The activated carbon cartridge is composed of granulated carbon that exhibits amazing adsorbing (adhering and absorbing ) properties that cut down the amount of dissolved organic pollutants and various harmful chemicals such as fluorides and trichloromethane.

Arrest recontamination
Elken's Bio Pure Water Purification System uses pipes and tubings made from materials that do not contaminate the drinking water or encourage the proliferation of microorganisms. The connectors are designed to ensure efficient cleansing and backwashing. Furthermore, all the materials used are strictly nontoxic and anticorrosive. Even the coating has been subject to the most stringent tests to ensure durability and resistance to wear and tear.
The reservoir is made up of ABS food-grade material, which is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is safe for storing food and drinking water storage and exposure to high temperatures without breaking down, a quality unmatched by the reservoirs made of substandard materials.
The Bio Pure membrane also has an auto-flush function: the flushing mechanism is activated every hour for 20 seconds at a time whether the unit is in operation or not. This way the rejected water and contaminants are eliminated from the system regularly, keeping the RO membrane protected from blockage and extending its lifespan.

Quality assurance
Joseph F. Harrison, tecnical director for the Water Quality Association (WQA) and Micheal R. Long, a water specialist, emphasized the importance of consuming clean and purified water during their visit to Malaysia. Harrison and Long stressed the importance of a purification systembearing the prestigious Gold Seal of the United States. Only Elken's Bio Pure Water Purification System has received this approval in Asia.
In addition, Bio Pure Water Purification Systems won the NSF 58 Accreditation, PSB Safety Mark and SIRIM Quality Compliance. Elken received the prestigious ISO9001 Quality Management System Certification and the 2003 Asia Pacific International Golden Kris Award and many more. The WQA is an internationally acclaimed nonprofit institution established more than three decades ago that stresses the importance of purity in drinking water.
The Bio Pure series of products is free from structural defects. It is safe, trustworthy and offers quality assurance beyond industrial standards. Elken has a sizable and efficient after-sales service team supported by ISO International Quality Standard Certification. Its members are trained technicians who are experts at keeping Bio Pure Water Purification Systems running smoothly and flawlessly.
